Xohel Greeno (Abridged Biography)

Updated: 4 days ago

Xohel Greeno was an innovative agronomist and engineer who played a pivotal role in shaping Albbony’s agricultural advancements before the formation of The Nutrition Corporation.

The Man Behind the Vision

Born in 1872, during the peak years of the Salt Revolution, Greeno was deeply influenced by the negative environmental impacts caused by industrial salt harvesting. In 1902, he began creating designs for a massive, self-sustaining agricultural complex aimed at ensuring food security for all islanders. He would later name this structure “Greenhouse X”.

Built in 1922, Greenhouse X integrated several advanced techniques, such as passive solar heating, hydroponic and aeroponic systems, biodiverse crop selection, integrated waste recycling, and natural pest control. The greenhouse initially functioned as a communal food source, providing access to fresh, affordable produce without the use of chemicals.

Greenhouse X Today

Following the formation of the corporatocracy after the Second Tropic War, Greenhouse X fell under the control of the emerging Nutrition Corporation, which centralized food production and restricted access to its resources. Today, the greenhouse plays a crucial role in feeding the city, but access to its produce is strictly regulated by floor.

Though Greeno passed away in 1948, Greenhouse X remains a testament to his legacy. His journals are preserved in the D.H. Omer Memorial Library, and some of his sketches are on display at the Albbony Museum of Tropic History.
